LICENSING COMMITTEE GRANTS TWO RENEWALS.
Renewals of licenses were granted to A. Scalmer, of the Papanui Hotel, and P. J. Lawrence, of the Club Hotel, at a meeting of the Christchurch Licensing Committee to-day. Mr H. A. Young, S.M., presided, and associated with him were Messrs G. E. Franklin, H. H. Holland and H. H. Wauchop. Inspector Cameron stated that he had inspected the two hotels in order to see that fire escapes were improved.
