TENNIS PLAYERS CONTEST DOUBLES.
AUSTRALIANS DEFEAT TWO LEADING ITALIANS. (United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received June 28, 1 p.m.) LONDON, June 27. Play in the All England lawn tennis championships was continued at Wimbledon. Results:— Men’s Doubles. Second Round. Crawford and Moon (Australia) beat de Morpurgo and Gaslini (Italy) in five sets. Hopman and Willard also won. All the Australians won in the second round of the mixed doubles. The seeded doubles pairs at Wimbledon consist of W. Allison and J. van Ryn (U.S.A., holders), G. M. Lott and H. J. Doeg (U.S.), Cochet and Brugnon (France), J. C. Gregory, and I. G. Collins (England). The seeded mixed doubles include Tilden and Fraulein Aussem, Crawford and Miss Ryan, Cochet and Miss Eileen Bennett, Borotra and Senorita de Alvarez. No Australians are seeded in the women’s singles, in which Mrs Robertson (nee Esna Boyd), Miss le Messurier (South Australia), and Mrs List (Melbourne) have entered.
