FIVE BOYS PUNISHED FOR DISORDERLY BEHAVIOUR.
Five boys, sixteen years of age, were brought before Mr H. A. Young, S-M , in the Children’s Court this morning to answer a charge of disorderly behaviour.
They pleaded guilty. It was explained that they were riding home on bicycles after a football match. The five were riding abreast across’the road, and were singing and shouting. Bad language was also used. Sergeant Kelly said that the language could be heard for fifty yards. There were women and children about. Two of the boys had admitted using the language.
Three of the boys were admonished and discharged Fines of 7s 6d and 10s respectively were imposed on the boys who had used bad language. Dealing with a boy cyclist who had knocked down a schoolgirl as the result of an effort to pass a standing tram, the Magistrate ordered him not to ride a cycle far one year.
