CREW OF SCOW HAD EXCITING EXPERIENCE.
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 28. The three members of the crew of the scow Hero, which returned to Auckland to-day, relate an exciting experience when the vessel was driven on the beach at Wairoa Bay, near Cape Colville, by a storm on June 20. They scrambled ashore with great difficulty, and were virtually marooned for nearly a week. Eventually two launches towed the scow off.
