YOUNG MAN DISCHARGED ON CHARGE OF STEALING
A young man who made a voluntary appearance in the Magistrate’s Court this morning, before Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M., on a charge of stealing £l4 12s 6d, was convicted and discharged on condition that he repaid the money. The accused pleaded guilty to the charge.
Suppression of the name was granted on the application of the probation officer, who stated that there were special cirOttmstarices
Sergeant Hyland said that the young man was working at a sawmill in the country He had authority to sell tithber. but had hp authority to collect money. 'The accused alleged that he did not receive wages.
