PENSIONS REPORT IS IMPORTANT.
COMMISSION’S SCHEME UNDER CONSIDERATION Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 3. Publication of the report of the ExSoldiers’ Rehabilitation Commission bearing on the subject of economic pensions has been delayed, chiefly owing to the Minister of Defence (the Hon J. (¥. Cobbe) being obliged to visit, Samoa. The report covers seventy-one pages, and, as the recommendations of the committee are of great importance, and if carried out in their entirety will involve a large increase in expenditure by the Pensions Department, which has now submitted its report to the Minister, the recommendations are being considered, and later will be reported on by the repatriation branch of the State Advances Department. As soon as the latter report is received, the matter will be considered by the Cabinet, after which the report will be released for publication.
