City Roading .

To the Editor. Dear Sir,—l wish to endorse your correspondent’s complaint about the state of Colombo Street South. There is too much of a tendency with some people to excuse everything that the Labour Council does or fails to do. It has had authority to put the roads in order and it is spending money in all sorts of out-of-the-way and unnecessary directions. What about Lincoln Road? We have a beautiful mess there. If the Riccarton Borough refuses to bear its share, we are going to have half the road at one level and the other half at another. I have never seen such bungling —I am, etc., JERROLD STREET SUFFERER.
