STAFF SOCIAL
A social and dance were held on Saturdav at the factory of the New Zealand' Lace Web Company, Ltd , to celebrate the opening of the new factorv. Over one hundred guests were present, and an enjoyable time was spent by all. The factory was tastefully decorated in lemon and lavender. A toast list was honoured, and mention was made of the phenomenal growth of the firm. Ten years ago the factorv was a small shed, and one man was employed. To-day the factory covers half an acre, and up to 120 are employed. Messrs 11. Parlane and E. H. Marriner congratulated the firm on its success, and expressed the hope that it would continue to ma»ke the advance that it had done in the past. Towards the close of the evening, presentations were made on behalf of the staff to Mr J. W. Thomas and Mr F. A. Drayton. The presentation was made by Miss Baiinan.
