M’DOWELL— FOUBISTER. St Barnabas’s Church, Fendalton, was decorated by friends of the bride for the wedding } r esterday afternoon of Ida Marie Helen, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Foubister, of Lyttelton, to Royden Vivian, youngest son of the late Mr and Mrs J. M’Dowell. The Rev F. B. Redgrave conducted the ceremony, and Mr A. J. Merton officiated at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore an ensemble of mushroom beige georgette and lace. The frock was fashioned with tight-fitting bodice and long sleeves, with a flared skirt falling longer at the sides, the coat of French lace. Her hat was of beige straw, caught with a green velvet bow at the back, and she carried an armlet of scarlet Etoile de Holland roses. Miss Leanore Foubister, sister of the bride, attended as bridesmaid, wearing a picture frock of delphinium blue georgette with a felt hat to tone. She carried an armlet of powder blue delphiniums, finished with a trail of scarlet roses and fuchsias. Mr Williams, of Wellington, attended the bridegroom as best man. The ceremony was followed by a reception at 4, Merivale Lane, where Mrs N. G. Chamberlain received the guests, wearing a black corded silk costume with a white satin tuck-in blouse and a smart hat of black plush and astrachan. The bride’s mother wore a pretty frock of floral marocain in autumn shades, which were also carried out in the flowers of her posy, and a felt hat to tone. Mrs W. Foubister, grandmother of the bride, wore a handsome gown of navy repp and satin with a black felt hat, and she carried a posy of violets and freesias. When Mr and Mrs R. V. M’Dowell left for their wedding tour, the bride was wearing a smart bottle green coat frock of woven tweed, with a felt hat in the same shade, and a marmot necklet. RYB URN—ROBERTSON. (Special to the “ Star.”) AUCKLAND April 2. A wedding took place this morning at St Luke’s Church, Remuera, when Peggy* elder daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert M. Robertson, late of Canterbury, and at present of Auckland, was married to Dr Wilfred Ryburn, of Ash-, burton, Canterbury. The Rev G. H. Thomson, assisted by the Rev Robert M. Ryburn, of Christchurch, father of the bridegroom, performed the ceremony. Miss Ina Robertson, the bride's sister, was bridesmaid, and the Rev Hubert Ryburn, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. The bride wore a period gown of rose mist taffetas and ninon, made with a tightly fitting bodice and a very full skirt, and a picturesque hat of rose mist summer felt. She carried a bouquet of carnations toning with her gown. Miss Ina Robertson wore a quaintly cut gown of shell pink moire, with a yoke and inset bands of fisher net to tone, and a soft felt hat of the same colour. She carried a posy. Mrs Robert M. Robertson, mother of the bride, wore an ensemble of black lace and beige georgette, a large hat of beige and black, and a bouquet of crimson roses. Mrs R. M. Ryburn, of Christchurch, the bridegroom’s mother, wore a draped gown of satin beaute in ivory and black with a smart hat of gold velvet. Mrs Marshall Gray, sister of the bridegroom, wore a smart gown of cigar brown taffetas, with a hat of beige and brown. Mr and Mrs Robertson entertained the wedding party at Cargen after the ceremony.
