CATTLE IN STREETS ARE DANGER TO CHILDREN

The City Council has decided that for the sake of the safety of school children, cattle will not be allowed to be driven in certain streets in the vicinity of the Phillipstown School. A letter was received at last night's meeting of the council drawing attention to the danger which existed through cattle being driven in Cross Street and Nursery Road to get on to Ferry Road at a time when children were going to school. The By-laws Committee reported that it realised the danger, and recommended that no cattle be allowed to be driven in the area bounded b}- Matheson’s Road, Tuam Street and Phillip Street, which included Cross Street, Nursery Road, Leyden Street, Hillview Street and the portion of St Asaph Street lying be* tween Phillip Street and Matheson's Road.
