RETURN OF DISEASES STANDS AT NORMAL.

Figures supplied by the Health Department show that the following cases we£g reported during the past week: — Scarlet fever 10, diphtheria 5, tuberculosis 3, pneumonic influenza 1, infantile paralysis 1, sep|ic abortion 1, dysentry 1, puerperal sepsis 1 and erysipelas 1. Four cases of diphtheria were reported from the West Coast. This makes a total of twenty-eight cases. The position is quite normal. One death occurred on the West Coast from tuberculosis, one from a similar cause in Canterbury and one from cerebro-spinal meningitis.
