MEETING HELD BY AMURI A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the committee of thd Amur! A. and P. Association was held in the Public Hall, Rotherham, on Thursday evening. The president, Mr G. T. White, was in the chair, and there was a large attendance. .. An apology for absence was received from Mr G. W. Aldridge. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £322 4s lid. The Canterbury A. and P. Association advised that the annual ram and ew® fair would be held on March 20 and 21. A further sum of 10s was donated to the Wheat Tariff Protection Committee. Mr R. L. Jameson was appointed delegate to the Canterbury A. and P. Association’s conference at Christchurch on February 11. A vote of thanks was accorded to the masters of the local schools for the revision of the schedule of school work, which was adopted as recommended. Votes of thanks were also passed to Mr It. Sharpe for his donation of the Mossdale Cup in the half-bred section, and. to Mrs A. Black (Culverden) for prizes for the new pony competition classes. Several slight alterations were made to the schedule. The secretary reported that donations to the prize fund were exceptionally good, especially from Christchurch firms and the Culverden district. The president moved a vote of thanks to all donors of special prizes, and to collectors, for their successful efforts. A meeting of the Finance Committee was arranged for Saturday evening to allot and the secretary reported that the schedule would be available about February 10. It was left in the hands of the secretary to obtain quotations for a band, and to arrange for a publican's booth. It was decided to invite the Hon G. W. Forbes, Minister of Lands, to open the show. ’ It was also decided to present three previous winners of the Patriotic Cup with engraved miniature cups. Judges were appointed for the coming show, and it was decided to hold the next meeting of the committee at the end of February, to appoint marshals and stewards.
