GRAY BROTHERS REMANDED ON CHARGE OF BURGLARY .
Hearing Set Down for January 14, On Application Of Chief-Detective
A remand till January 14 was granted by Me E. D. Mosley, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court this morning in the charges against Charles Robert Gray (17) and James Wilfred Gray (19). The charges preferred this morning were: — (l) against both the accused, that on December 18 at Christchurch, they broke and entered by night the shop of J. J. Brookes, with intent to commit a crime; and (2) against Charles Robert Gray, that on December 18 he was deemed an idle and disorderly person, in that he carried an offensive weapon, to wit, a gun.
Chief-Detective Carroll asked for a remand till Janu-
ary 14
Mr Burns, who appeared for the accused, agreed The remand was granted.
The accused were handcuffed together when they were being taken to the Court, and the same precaution was observed when they returned to the police station.
