MOTOR-CAR CAPSIZES RAIL-CAR IN SOUTHLAND.

INVERCARGILL, January 0. \Vhen returning to Otara from Ma» taura a touring Car driven by Alex ander Downie collided with a rail-car from Edendale, lifting it clear 05 the rails and causing it to capsize. Five occupants of the rail-car utained minor injuries. The others escared with a shaking. Both cars were badly damaged.
