An outbreak of lire in the sittingroom of a three-storeyed house at 23. Peacock Street, off Durham Street north, was the cause of two fire engines turning out at 4.3 p.m. yesterday. A hot coal out of the grate caused a small fire alongside the mantel piece, with the result that the wall was slightly damaged. The brigade soon had the situation in hand. The occupier of the house, who was absent at the time, is Mrs Cooper, and the owner 1 is Mr S. G. Unwin.
