MOTOR-CAR CRASHES IN THE MAJORITY.
(United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received January 6, 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, January 6. Two women were killed and three others were injured, one critically, when a car was struck by a train at a level crossing near Newport, Victoria. Six deaths from car smashes in different States and a drowning complete the week-end toll. Eight people were injured when a double tram crashed into a stationary tram at Balmain. Many others suffered from shock. Many women fainted. Both trams were damaged.
