Residents of Sydenham in the vicinity of Wordsworth Street, are circulating a petition, addressed to the Christchurch Drainage Board, asking that something should be done to remedy the trouble that has been occasioned by the half dozen floods experienced in the district during the past year. A resident stated yesterday that it was a disgrace that the board had done nothing to stop it. It was more than time that the board woke up to the fact that the drainage sy#tern there was not what it should b«i The surface water did not get away as it should, and when a storm came along the people were isolated. Some employees of the board had inspected the district, but so far nothing had been done.
