WELL-KNOWN PLAYERS MEET AT WANGANUI. Per Press Association. WANGANUI, January 2. The North Island Tennis Championships were continued to-day in perfect weather. Results:— Ladies' Championship Singles: Miss White (Wellington) beat Miss Cameron (Masterton), 6-4, 6-4. Miss Myers (Wanganui) Miss Card (Featherston), 6-1, 6-1. Mrs Smith (Wanganui) beat Mrs Richardson (Wanganui), 6-3, 6-2. Miss D. Nicholls (Wellington) beat Miss Franklin (Auckland), 6-0, 6-1. Miss Purcell (Wanganui) beat Miss D. Scott (Christchurch), 6-3. 6-3. Men’s Championship Doubles. Cox and Udy (Wanganui) beat Rhodes-Williams and Dymond (Christchurch), 6-1, 6-1. X»adles’ Championship Doubles. Mrs Richardson and Miss L. Pease (Hawera) beat Misses Ballantyne (New Plymouth) and Scott, 6-2, 6-2. Mrs Marshall (Wanganui) and Miss Card beat Misses Tulloch and Barry, 6-0, 6-0.
