HAROLD THORPE WINS PARK HANDICAP.

CANTERBURY PARK TROTS ARE HELD AT ADDINGTON.

Sunshower Gets Second Place In Principal Race Of Day.

The seventh favourite, Harold Thorpe, won the Park Handicap at Addington to-day. All the acceptors started and Sunshower was second, with the first favourite, Lindbergh, third.

Scuttle led Jock Bingen out of the straight, but at the end of two furlongs Admiral Bingen ran to the front. He was six lengths clear at the end of half a mile, where Scuttle, Jock Bingen, Rustle and Great Nelson were his nearest attendants. Jock Bingen was in second place passing the stand and he joined Admiral Bingen in the lead half a mile from home. A furlong further on Great Nelson took second place. Jock Bingen led into the straight and beat Great Nelson comfortably by three lengths. Great Abdallah led out of the straight from Blue Glen, Young Bingen and Lough Neagh. Going along the bac-K Mac Dillon and Warepa moved up, and at the end of half a mile Great Abdallah had Young Bingen, Mac Dillon, Blue Glen, Warepa and Lough Neagh as his nearest attendants. Mac Dillon and Warepa joined Great Abdallah in the lead starting on the last round, where Baynut was putting in a fast run. Half a mile from home Warepa, Lough Neagh and Baynut were in front, but Warepa was done with a furlong further on. Lough Neagh and Baynut turned for home together with Blue Glen and Ricardo next. In a good finish Lough Neagh beat Baynut by a neck. Ricardo was a length and a half away, with Morning Sun several lengths further back at the head of the others. Harold Thorpe took charge at the entrance to the straight and stalled off a late run by Sunshower by three-quarters of a length. Going along the back, Audrey Dillon and Kid Logan went on together in the lead, but after passing the mile post Kid Logan drew clear. Denver’s Doll, Whakataua and Kautoma followed him into the back stretch. Denver’s Doll broke three furlongs from home, when Whakataua joined Kid Logan in the lead. A little further on, Whakataua ran to the front and won by four lengths from Kid Logan, who beat Denver's Doll by three lengths. Awa-iti was fourth. Starting on the last lap, Etta Cole went to the front and going on, had Nelson Boy, John Mauritius and Lenwood as her nearest attendants. Etta Cole led into the straight, but Lenwood finishing strongly, got up in time to win by a head. John Mauritius was three lengths away with Bonny Belmont fourth.
