The drainage work which has been going on in St Martins for the last six months is now well advanced, and the contractors expect to finish in about a month’s time. The sewage pipes have been laid in most of the back streets in the district, and at present the tractors are completing the work in Wilson’s Road. In Wilson’s Road and Beckford Road the sandy soil made the trenching work difficult, but in other streets the earth was firm. The streets will be put in order by the contractors when the subsiding has finished.
