Messrs Harris Bros., Limited, report that at the weekly auction sale of “ Feather Brand ” guaranteed fresh eggs the following prices were realised:—Hen eggs, first grade (2oz or over), Is 3d; second grade (under 2oz), Is Id. MANUKA WRECK. DUNEDIN, December 17. Many of the Manuka’s passengers* and some of the crew are entirely without clothing. The secretary of the Shipwreck Relief Society telegraphed to Owaka this morning to provide food and clothing. The relief train has been specially heated for the shipwrecked folk, who have had a bad time. Heavy rain has been falling, with a cold wind. The landing from the vessel was made at Jack’s Point, from which place the passengers had to climb two miles to a sticky clay road leading to Owaka. It is stated that only thirty of the passengers have so far reached Owaka. A later message states that the relief train lias gone past Owaka to Ratanui, hoping to pick up more of the shipwrecked people there. They are all arriving in a bad condition, aftr a terrible night. I M.C.C. v. WELLINGTON. The match was resumed at 2 p.m. to-day. At 3.20 Wellington had lost nine wickets for 123. At 3.40 Wellington had made 140 for nine wickets (M’Girr 22, Dempster not out 30, M’Leod not out 10). The game was held up temporarily as M’Lcor received a bad knock from a ball. SCHOOLS CRICKET.
