STOLE REVOLVER; THEN THREW IT AWAY.
Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, December 9. Sometime on Sunday before the Hon W. Taverner's premises were entered, the branch office of the Dunedin Savings Bank in Cargill Road was burgled and a large safe dynamited. No money is left at branch offices, and the burglars’ only haul was a loaded revolver. Later on the revolver with fuse, detonators, a cold chisel and a jemmy, was found in scrub near the St Hilda beach, in which direction a man ran who was chased from Mr Taverner’s office.
