VICTORIA LEAGUE.
At a meeting of the Victoria League this week Mrs Deans presided. Present: Mesdarnes G. Lester, G. Hanmer, Hugh Acland, J. F. Studholme, Archer, J. H. Hall, R. Hannah, Thacker. J. M. Tripp, E. G. Hoff, Misses Cocks, Skoglund, Rose Tabart (honorary secretary), and Mr F. A. Macßean (honorary treasurer). Apologies were received from Mesdarnes Orbell and Boyle and Miss M’Owen. Remits presented at the recent conference were discussed, and particular interest was shown in the British Public Schoolboy Migrants’ problem. Letters from Sir Andrew Russell and Mr R. S. Abraham (Palmerston North), who are officials of the British Public School Association, were read, and valuable suggestions were made by them are to be adopted. The New Settlers report, through which domestic helps may be secured, was another interesting paper. Several new members were elected. It was decided to close the office for the Christmas holidays from December 19 till the first week in February.
