TWO BRUTAL MURDERS IN SYDNEY’S SLUMS.
MAN ARRESTED ON CAPITAL CHARGE (United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) SYDNEY, December 8. Alexander Belford, aged 45, was killed last night with a heavy waddy, which it is believed was used by a person who had sworn vengeance against him. The tragedy occurred in the Redfern slum quarter of the city Another terrible crime was committed in the Surry Hills slums. Arthur Lands, aged 35, was so severly slashed with a razor that he was disembowelled His dying depositions were taken, and following his death the police arrested a man on a charge of murder.
