One of the greatest treks in the annals of Canadian history began in the Far North, .where 3000 reindeer, purchased by the Dominion Government from a firm in Alaska, were started from Elephant Point on a 1500 miles’ pilgrimage across to the Mackenzie River- delta. They will not get there till early in the spring of 1931. The Government bought the herd iir 195,000 dollars, and the contractors are attending to their delivery. The deer are destined to furnish food and clothing for the natives of Canada's furthest north.
