COMING-OF-AGE PARTY.
An enjoyable function was held recently in the Rolleston Street Hall, in honour of the coming-of-age of Miss Edna May Allen. Dancing and games were enjoyed by those present, to music supplied by Habgood’s orchestra. A dainty supper was served in a room gaily decorated with streamers and roses. The cake was prettily decorated with twenty-one kewpies and a gold key. The toast of the guest of honour was proposed by Mr F. Allen. In presenting Miss Allen with a gold key, Mr W. P. Hern, the host of the evening, wished her the best of health and happiness in the future. Other toasts honoured were Mr W. P. Hern and the orchestra. Miss Allen received many beautiful presents. Mr G. O. Wood was M.C. The evening was brought to a close by singing “Auld Lang Syne.” Amongst those present were:—Mr and Mrs R. Polkinghorne, Mr and Mrs G. B. Wood, Mr and Mrs A.
