LATE SOCIAL NEWS.

WEDDING. CHAMBERS—HARVEY. A wedding of unusual interest was solemnised recently at the Weedons Methodist Church, when Essey Evelyn, only daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Harvey, “The Braes,” Sandy Knolls, was married to William Russell, second son of Mr and Mrs W. J. Chambers, “Carbery,” Weedons. The Rev A. H. Fowles was the officiating minister, and appro : priate music was rendered by Miss Ll.ia 1 Chambers, sist of the bridegroom. The ’ church was beautifully decorated with pale pink and blue flowers by friends ■ of the bride, and made a dainty set- ■ ting for the bridal party. The bride, who was given away by • her father, wore a dainty gown of wild--1 rose pink crepe de chine, trimmed with scalloped silver lace, and her veil was of palest pink silk net caught with orange blossom buds. Her bouquet ! was of choice hothouse flowers and maidenhair fern. She wore a rhinestone necklace, the gift of the bridegroom. The only bridesmaid, Miss Alice Cur ragh, was attired in a pretty frock of delicate blue crepe de chine, made with a fitting bodice and a quaintlv flared ' skirt trimmed with deep cream lace. She wore a head band arranged with narrow ribbon falling from a blue posy, and her bouquet was of apricot roses. * Mr Len Chambers, brother of the - bridegroom, was best man. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Weedons School, which was also beautifully decorated, and above the bride and bridegroom was suspended a huge pink and white wedding bell. Mr and Mr# A. Harvey entertained about 120 guests. Mrs Harvey wore a navy blue silk marocain frock trimmed with creme guipure lace. Her navy silk straw hat was relieved with touches of colour and she wore a fox fur. Her bouquet was of deep red roses. The bridegroom’s mother wore a beautiful tailored black satin coat over a navy silk frock and a hat of navy satin with touches of mauve. Her bouquet was of mauve sweet peas and maidenhair fern. Later, when Mr and Mrs Russell Chambers left for Wanganui, the bride was wearing a rose toned ravon frock and a tailored tweed coat. She wore a fawn and rose hat and carried a Mongolian fox fur.
