TWO MEN FROM CANTERBURY COLLEGE WILL JOIN BYRD.
Messrs L. 11. Samson and N. H. Newbold, Canterbury College students, will leave in the City of New York to join Captain Byrd’s party at the base on the Great ice Barrier. Mr Samson, a Dunedin resident and an engineering student at the College, has .been appointed assistant wireless operator on the supply ship. He helped to form the Canterbury College Society of Radio Engineers. Mr Newbold, who also lives in Dunedin. took the Master of Science degree at Otago University, and studied engineering at Canterbury College
