FAR TOO MANY IRREGULARITIES BY MOTOR OWNERS.

(Special to the "Star”) WANGANUI, October 14. Recently the Wanganui police had a large number of prosecutions against motorists for breaches of the Motor Regulations. Senior-Sergeant M'Lean intimated at Court to-day that, in making inquiries, they found that a large percentage of cases disclosed irregularities in regard to change of ownership, and that the new owners had neglected to obtain the endorsed certificate, and this involved a considerable amount of work to the police. The Magistrate, Mr Salmon, agreed that these classes of cases were far too numerous, and promised a hardening up of the fines as a stimulating effect.
