BOXING.

CAREY AND MORGAN TO MEET ON MONDAY.

The meeting of Ted Morgan, ex-ama-teur welter-weight champion of tho world, and Bill Carey, ex-light and welter champion of Canterbury and lightweight champion of New Zealand, which will be staged by the Christchurch Sports Club at the Municipal Concert Hall on Monday evening next, should produce a real battle of gloves. Both men are fast and clever boxers, but both revel in the hardest of fighting, and the bout will be a spirited one from start to finish. Since he has joined the ranks of the professionals Morgan has fulfilled the promise he showed as an amateur, and he has a number of bouts in prospect. Carey has turned professional since the last New Zealand amateur championships. In the last twelve months he has carried all before him as an amateur, and if he can beat Morgan he will be in demand as a professional.

The main bout of the evening will be of ten rounds. Good preliminaries have been arranged, chief of which will be the meeting of Colin Gardner and Alan Campbell.
