ASHBURTON NOTES.

POWER BOARD DECISION. (Special to the “Star.”) ASHBURTON, June 17. The Power Board this morning decided to raise £12,500, the first instalment of a loan of £85,000, recently sanctioned by the ratepayers. The term is ten years at 5£ per cent, pay able half-yearly. The security is a special rate of one-sixth of a penny and a sinking fund of £250 annually Messrs Watt, Nicoll and Woods have been appointed Commissioners.
