“ BELLAMY TRIAL,” AT THEATRE ROYAL, HAS BREATHLESS MOMENTS.
Two huge audiences greeted the fascinating sound programme at the Theatre Royal on Saturday. It has remained for the all-conquering “ talkies ” to break all attendance records at the theatre, where seats were unobtainable long before the starting hour, leaving hundreds disappointed. That expectancy was on tip-toe was quite evident, and from the moment that the Pathe rooster gave his cheerful greeting from the screen, to the breathless denouement of the sensational “ Bellamy Trial,” a constant wave of thrill and enthusiasm . surged through the audience. Opening and exceeding every expectation, it can safely be said that this new and fascinating form o*f entertainment will rapidly become an essential part of people's existence. The whole programme will be repeated twice daily until further notice.
