LINWOOD TEAM WIN JUNIOR B FINAL. The two undefeated teams in the junior E competition. Avonsidc and Linwood, played out the final to-day at Wilding Park. The weather was floe, and the standard of play was better than in any of the previous rounds. Linwood beat Avonside, four games to one. Results (Avonside names first): — D. A. M’Caskey lost to A. J. Dearsley 4-6. 6-3, 2-6. W. Deans lost to R- L. Sowden 2-6, 4Or. Mallet beat C. C. Treeby 6-2, 1-6, 6-2. J. Temple lost to V. Whitcombs 3-6, 6-4, 3-6. The game between M’Caskey and Dearsley was the best, both players being very consistent. In the first set M’Caskey led easily at 4-0, when Dearslev got his ** eye in *’ and took the next six games. In the next set li’Caskoy’s volleying put him in the lead 6-3. Dearsley made no mistake in the final set and won easily—6-2. , [ M'Caskey and Deans lost to Sowden and Dearsley, 2-6, 1-G.
