ST SAVIOUR’S MARKET.

A meeting of stallholders in connection with St Saviour’s market was held at the Church House yesterday. Present: Mrs Cracroft Wilson (in the chair), Mrs Friberg, Mrs Buchanan, Mrs Derisley Wood, Sister May, Mrs T. Gibson, Mrs Cordner, Mrs Robbie, Mrs Livingstone, Mrs Helmore, Miss Heywood, Miss E. Neave, Miss Pyne, Miss Gardner, Mrs Meddings, Mrs Hutton. The first cake stall at Everybody’s Theatre was reported to have been a great success, the total amount raised being £4B 11s Bd. The second stall will be held to-day. Books of admission tickets for sale were distributed amongst the workers. These tickets (Is admit two), and books of 20 can also be obtained at St Saviour's Office, 173 Cashel Street. Many stallholders gave notice of entertainments arranged for the coming weeks, all proceeds to go to the Christmas market. Country parishes were reported to be rallying round the town parishes in this special effort, chief amongst them being Leeston, Southbridge, Malvern, Oxford. Rangiora, Courtenay, Kirwee and Aylesbury. At Waihao Gorge a successful dance was given at the Franz Joseph Glacier Hotel, resulting in £l4 being sent to the Christmas market. This result was chiefly due to the energetic efforts of Miss J. Gerrard, of Waihao Gorge. It was also reported that the members of the Belfast Ladies’ Guild had decided at their last meeting to work for St Saviour’s market.
