WILLETT —MORRISS. The wedding of Iris Amy, only daughter of Mr and Mrs G. Morriss, of Alma, Oamaru, late of Belfast, to Joseph, eldest son of Mr and Mrs G. Willett, of Oamaru, was solemnised recently at St Luke’s Church, Oamaru, which was prettily decorated by friends of the bride. Archdeacon Russell officiated and Mr F. C. Burry presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a charming gown of rich ivory satin and silk lace, caught at the side with a spray of orange blossom. Her beautiful long trailing scalloped veil was prettily embroidered and arranged in mob cap style with orange blossom round the head. She carried a bouquet with ribbon streamers. The bride was by Miss Sadie Hawcliffe, and little Nola Dorsey, niece of the bridesmaid, the former wearing a pink satin dress made in early Victoria style. Mr Harold Willett was best man. After the ceremony Mrs Morriss entertained her guests at the Bungalow. Mrs Morris wore a navy blue crepe de chine frock trimmed with silk lack and navy satin hat with osprey. Mrs Willett, the bridegroom’s mother, wore a navy rayon frock with cream front and navy satin hat. Their posies matched their dresses. Later the bride and bridegroom left for the south amidst showers of confetti, the bride wearing a pretty corn flower blue charmaline frock relieved in gold, and a tailored coat and pretty blue satin hat to match. MASON—M’KAY. A wedding took place at St Peter’s Church, Akaroa, on Wednesday afternoon, when Phyllis Catherine, second daughter of Mr and Mrs W. M’Kay, of Le Bon’s Bay, was married to John Arthur Reginald, only son of Mr 11. J. Mason, of Okain’s Bay. The Rev A. H. Julius, of Akaroa, performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a beautiful wedding frock of cream georgette with lace yoke, the four panels of georgette falling to deep Vandyke points over an underskirt of cream lace. A dainty taffeta sash was finished with a large bow at one side, and the long, tight-fitting sleeves were edged with lace falling from the wrists. She wore a pretty veil, embroidered in a deeper shade of cream, which was arranged in mob cap style, with orange- blossom and pearls, and she carried a beautiful shower bouquet of pink flowers and maidenhair fern. Misses Agnes and Vera M’Kay, sisters of the bride, who attended as bridesmaids, wore becoming frocks of biscuit-coloured georgette, finished with falls of lace, and the long, tight-fitting sleeves had lace falls from the elbow to the wrist. They wore dainty felt hats to tone with their frocks, and carried bouquets. Miss Phyllis M’Kay, a small cousin of the bride, who acted as flowergitl, wore a pretty pink georgette frock made with frilled skirt. Mr Colin Mason, cousin of the bridegroom, was best man, and Mr W. M’Kay, brother of the bride, was groomsman. As the bride and bridegroom left the church, Miss Joan M’Kay presented the bride ivith a lucky horse-shoe. After the ceremony, Mr and Mrs W. M'Kay entertained a large number of relatives and friends at a reception at the Kowhai tea rooms, where the usual toasts were honoured. Later, when the bride and groom left by motor for Christchurch, the bride was wearing a handsome’ brown crepe satin frock, a dark brown cloth coat, with collar, cuffs and front hem edged with a deep band of brown fur, and smart brown felt toque. Mr and Mrs Mason are making their home in Okain’s Bay.
