WEDDINGS.

CANNING—CATTRALL. St Alark’s Church, Opawa, was the scene of a wedding on April 17, when Phyllis, eldest daughter of Air and Airs J. Cattrall, Linwood, was married to Alfred, fifth son of Air and Airs T. Canning. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev H. Williams, and Air J. W. W. Baker presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a model frock of ivory georgette made on simple lines. Her veil of filmy tulle was held in place with a coronet of silver lace and orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of pink and white flowers. Airs L. A. Canning, sister of the bride, attended as matron of honour, and Aliss Evelyn D}-kes was bridesmaid. Both attendants were dressed alike in frocks of blush pink georgette, with a tulle headdress, and carried bouquets of pink flowers. Air L. A. Canning, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, and Air A D. Canning was the groomsman. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the St Asaph Street Hall, which was gaily decorated with multi-coloured streamers. Airs Cattrail received her guests wearing a gown of beige crepe de chine and ecru lace, with hat to tone. St John's Church, Latimer Square, was the scene of a wedding on Tuesday, when Eileen May, only daughter of Mr and JMrs W. Goston, 234, Kilmore Street" was married to' Edward Albert Hill, eldest son of Air and Airs E. J. Hill. New Brighton. The church was decorated with bunches of autumn foliage, and the Rev J. F. Coursey conducted the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, was dressed in cream georgette with semi-fitting bodice, and sleeves from the elbow which hung from wrists in a circular frill. The circular skirt had a scalloped hem faffing over fine ivory lace. The veil forming the train was held in place by a coronet of silver leaves with fan at back. She carried a bouquet of white geraniums and roses.

The bridesmaid, Aliss Lyrist A’Court, wore an effective coral pink georgette frock, with wide berthe collar and drop-sided skirt relieved with green chiffon velvet flowers. On her head she wore a bandeau of silver with flowers to match the frock. She carried a bouquet of belladonna lilies and roses. The little flower girl, Eileen Connor, cousin of the bride, looked very dainty in a sky blue georgette frock faffing from a yoke with large scallops of val lace. She carried a gilded basket of various tinted roses.

Airs Goston, mother of the bride, wore a navy cedachene frock relieved with autumn-tinted colours. A panel of fine pleating was let in on either side of the skirt. The hat, which matched the frock, was also relieved with autumn-tinted shades. She carried a pretty bouquet of larkspur and asters. Airs Hill mother of the bridegroom, wore a becoming dress of cedar brown chenille, relieved with collar and jabot of fawn georgette. The hat was made in two tones of brown and fawn. She carried a bouquet of bronze chrysanthemums.

Air P. Hill attended as best man. After the ceremony, a wedding breakfast was held at the Carlton Cafe. The bride and bridegroom left that evening for Wellington. On going away the bride wore a brown charma laine frock with fitting bodice and flared skirt. Her coat was of the same shade with rich fur collar and cuffs, and she wore a felt hat to match.
