WEDDINGS.

ELLIOTT—RANDALL. A quiet but pretty wedding was celebrated at St John's Church, Woolston, recently, of Lorna, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs G. H. Randall, of Christchurch, to Charles Fredric, eldest son of Mr and Mrs F. Elliott, of Taranaki. The Rev F. A. Tooley officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a frock of ivory georgette, the bodice and skirt being inset with silver lace and shirred to the waistline where it was caught with a tiny spray of orange blossom. Her handmade veil, a gift to the bride, was arranged behind the head, fan fashion, and was held in place by a wreath of orange blossom and fell in uneven lines to the hem of the frock. She carried a shower bouquet of white touched with pink. She was attended by her sister, Merle, who wore a dainty shell pink crepe de chine frock, pin tucked and caught at the shoulders with pink ribbons. She carried a bouquet of mauve and pink flowers. The duties of the best man were carried out by Mr Walter Randall, brother of the bride. Later Mrs Randall entertained her guests at Dixieland. She wore a smart model frock of Milanese jersey silk with scarf and hat to tone. Mr and Mrs C. F. Elliott left later for their new home in the north. DOW—STOKES. St Andrew’s Church, Barrington Street, Addington, was the scene of a wedding on Tuesday, when Hazel Lillian, only daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Stokes, was married to Kenneth, youngest son of Mr and Mrs P. Dow. The Rev E. Swinerd officiated at the ceremony. The church had been very prettily decorated with pink and white flowers by girl friends of the bride. The bride tvas given away by her father. She was attired in a pretty shell-pink georgette frock over crepe de chine, relieved with silver. Her long embroidered veil fell from a coronet of orange blossom. The bride, when leaving the church, was presented with a silver horseshoe by' Miss Stella Dow. The bridesmaid, Miss Adelaide Borthwick (Dunedin), wore a pretty powdered blue georgette frock relieved with fawn hat, and shoes to match. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr Alexander Dow, brother of the bridegroom. Following the a reception was held at Thompson's Tea Rooms, Lincoln Road, Addington, where the guests were received by the bride’s mother, who was wearing a navy crepe de chine frock with inset of cream lace, and hat to tone. Iler bouquet was of red roses and maidenhair fern. Mrs Dow, the bridegroom’s mother, was attired in a navy serge costume, and hat to tone. She carried a bouquet of red carnations and gypsophila. When the bride left for her wedding tour she was wearing a peach crepe de chine frock with saxe blue tailored coat and fox fur.
