CROWDS ENJOY “HIT THE DECK” AT THEATRE ROYAL.
“ Hit the Deck,” which will be produced for the last time at the Theatre Royal to-night by the J. C. Williamson Company, headed by Miss Annie Croft, is full of that rollicking humour characteristic of the British jack tar. There are a number of good choruses that go with a fine swing, and several novelty dances of exceptional merit are introduced. The scenery is very fine. Miss Annie Croft scores a distinct success, her bright and winsome personality making her admirably suited to the part with which she was entrusted. Mr Reginald Sharland also does some fine acting in the leading male role. Miss May Beatty scores one of the triumphs of her career. Much of the comedy work falls to Mr Gus Bluett, who scores a great success as a fun-maker. He is well assisted by Mr Leo Franklyn and Mr Leslie Donaghey. This evening the curtain will rise at 7.45.
