MUSICAL TREAT AT CHRISTMAS SERVICE.
The Christmas services at the Edgeware Road Methodist Church were up to the usual high standard, the musical items at the morning service being provided by the Juvenile Choir, and at the evening service by a full choir supplemented toy an efficient orchestra of twelve performers. Vocal solos were rendered by Misses Jessie Duff, Anne and Rita Lucas, W. Sproston and Hilda Smith, and Mr E. J. Johnston. The orchestral performers were: Mr T. B« Riordan (leader), Mrs Wilson, Misses Ella Stark, Margaret Wilson, Messrs P. Barnes, E. H. Partridge, T. W. Michaelson, J. B. Murray and V. . Gabites (violins) ; Mr Alfred Lawrence (viola) ; Mr E. P. Andrews and Miss M. Chapman (’cellos) ; Mr A. P. de la Cour (bass). Mr Cecil James acted as musical director, and Miss Stella Osborne as organist. During an after-service supper to the performers occasion was taken to make a presentation to Miss May Trenberth, a member of the choir, on the occasion of her approaching marriage, and to Miss Stella Osborne, in appreciation of her excellent services as church organist. The Rev S. J. Werren presided.
