PUDDINGS, GEESE AND JOLLITY.
BY
SINBAD.
Oh, let us turn this Christmastide to jest and jubilation. Fling far aside all carping care, and turn to measures gay, Forget awhile the things that once we viewed with ululation — There is no room for mournful wails when nearing Christmas day. Perhaps you’re keen bn politics, and oft have been rejoicing To see the reins of Government once more held hy Sir Joe; Perhaps (though I hope not) you disapproval have been voicing, Declaring the Uniteds can bring nothing else but woe. But, be your views political United, Red, or Tory, Restrain, I beg, all party spleen, and join in Christmas glee, Enjoying in time-honoured way, so famed in song and story, The Christmas pudding, Christmas goose and Christmas jollity. So here are Sinbad’s compliments for everyone to-morrow, And let no scruples worry as you pack good things away, For though excess of Christmas cheer may bring regrets and sorrow, It’s time enough to think of that on reaching Boxing Day.
