The Christmas open and handicap tournament will be playted on the turf courts at Wilding Park, commencing on Wednesday morning (Boxing Day). The first matches are timed to commence at 8.30 a.m. The entries are large and representative. Several North Island players have entered the lists, as well as others from the south. During the progress of the tournament spme excellent play should be witnessed. After the recent heavy rain the courts at Wilding Park promisie to be in excellent condition for the tournament, and no effort will be spared by the association to make the meeting a success. A large marquee has been erected in a central position for the convenience of the officials and the Press, spteoial telephone arrangements having been made for the benefit of the latter. Air Wyon V. Stevens will he the tournament secretary, and his experience in that capacity ensures the smooth running of the tournament. Competitors must report their arrival on the ground each morning. In view of the large entry, competitors are notified that, unless they are ready to play when called upon, they may be scratched. Refreshments, including luncheon, will be available on the ground.
