DANCING RECITAL.

- On Thursday evening in the Winter Garden pupils of the Alisses Waugh gave an enjoyable pianoforte and dancing recital. The hall was well filled with an appreciative audience of parents and friends of the pupils, and the items, which were given by the pupils, were creditably performed. Pianoforte duets, national and character dancing, including five attractive ballets, constituted the programme, at the close of which many beautiful bouquets and boxes of cholocates were presented. The chairman, Air W. Williamson, made a presentation of a cup and medal donated by Air T. Stace, of Auckland, to the dancer gaining the most first prizes in national dancing in 1928. The winner of the cup was Aliss Doris O’Connor, with twenty-two first prizes, and the runner-up, Miss Joan Yardley, secured the medal with thirteen first prizes. Aliss Bella Peddie secured third place with twelve first prizes. Pipers Al’lntyre, Al’lntosh, Alunro and Campbell supplied music for the dancing.
