CAUGHT BY FOOT ON PARAPET OF GRAFTON BRIDGE.
(Special to the “ Star.”) AUCKLAND, December 21. There have been several suicides at Grafton Bridge lately. At nine o’clock this morning an elderly man saw a young man apparently about to jump into the gully. He caught hold of him by one foot, and, with the assistance of two other men, dragged him to a more certain foothold. In the Police Court, Albert Lloyd Addison, aged 21, a single man, was charged with attempted suicide. The police stated; that he was a timber mill machinist, out of work, and had recently been in hospital for insomnia. He was remanded 1 for medical observation.
