DEATH FOLLOWS INJURY TO FOOT.
Per Press Association. HAMILTON, December 21. An inmate of the Waikeria Borstal Institute, John Lawrence Cosgrove, drove a pitch fork through a foot eight days ago. He was admitted to the Waikato Hospital two days ago, showing tetanus symptoms. No tetanus was found, but pneumonia developed, and diphtheria was evident. He collapsed suddenly and died. At the inquest a verdict of death from natural causes was returned, every care having been taken by the institute authorities for the welfare of the patient after the accident.
