LATE CORRESPONDENCE.
NOT IN GOOD TASTE. To the Editor. Dear Sir, —I think that the directors of 3ZC were guilty of a lapse from good taste when they put on the air on Tuesday evening the “American Hobo's £ong.” First of all it is sung to a well-known hymn tune, which is debased bv such an association. Secondly, the American language is not ours, and slang that is innocent and harmless in America has sometimes an offensive or indelicate meaning in British countries. The song could be sent back to America without any loss to New Zealand.—l am, etc., LISTENER. PLEADED GUILTY TO SERIES OF CHARGES. Per Press Association. OAMARU, December 20.
