Nineteen-twentv-eight is the silver jubilee year of the Sacred Heart College, Auckland, and the Christmas number of their magazine contains much interesting information on th* history of this school, w'hich has mad* for itself a very high position in New Zealand education. The College wa* opened in 1891 with six pupils, the first boarder l>eing received in 1893. During the last four years no fewer than six of its Old Roys have received nomination for Rhodes scholarships from th* University Colleges, and two of these— Wilfrid Kalaugher and Ernest Baileyhave been selected. On the fields of sport four Old Boys have achieved All Black fame; while in athletics are such famous names as Lander, Quinn, Snedden, Farrell and Kalaugher. Th* magazine is profusely illustrated.
