There was a large attendance at the Gardens yesterday afternoon, when the Royal Christchurch Musical Society gave a concert on the archerv lawn. The weather was ideal and th£ condii tions were perfect for an open-air per- ! formance. The proceedings were open- , j ed with the of the National An- ' them by the chorus, with orchestral ; j accompaniment, the anthem being sung , j in Sir Edward Elgar’s special setting.
