PENNANT COMPETITION. SATURDAY’S MATCHES. The matches in the first round of the Christchurch Bowling Centre’s Manning Cur pennant competition, which could not be played on October 27 owing to rain, took place on Saturday afternoon. The weather conditions were favourable but the greens were very soft as a result of the soaking they received during the week,, and for this reason no games were played on the St Albans, United and Rangiora greens. Except for a few matches in the second round which were postponed the section play in the competition is now completed and the post-sectional games will be played on a date to be arranged by the Match Committee.
