700 PEOPLE HOMELESS IN SMALL COLLIERY TOWN IN MONMOUTHSHIRE.

THE GALE caused terrible distress in the colliery town of Blaina, Monmouthshire, where forty-six per cent of the employable persons are unemployed. The roofs of 400 houses were blown off, and the homes of 700 people are thus uninhabitable. Hundreds of houses are flooded out. The total damage is £50,000. —Australian Press Association.
