NO RELEASE FROM EXILE.
TROTSKY MAKES DARING STATEMENTS. (Special to the “ Star.”) LONDON, September 5. At an extraordinary session of the Central Control Commission of the Communist Party at Moscow, it was decided to refuse the request made by friends of Trotsky for his release from exile. .It was also decided never to reinstate him as a member of the party. The reason for the refusal was a letter written by Trotsky from Alma-Ata, Turkestan, his place of exile, which contained the following daring statements : “ Considering our economic position, our of living and our cultural conditions, we are much nearer in the Soviet Union to the worst type of capitalism, that negligent and uncivilised type of capitalism, than the Socialist order of society. “ As regards the position of the Chinese revolution, I am still of the same opinion as before—the whole thing has been badly mismanaged by our people.” In addition to writing continuous ‘ analvses of the position,” Trotsky spends his time in exile “ hunting and making geological researches.”
